Radio Poppers

RadioPoppers

I received my Radio Poppers on April 18 and took them out this weekend to play with. My main purchase for them was the extended TTL function and High Speed Synch.

I purposely darkened this photo due to the cluttered background:

These two photos were taken minutes apart. Again note the shutter speeds. Radio Poppers open a whole new way of taking photos. I am in love with the high synch!!!

Another Example. Note the shutter speed. I had two SB800's mounted on a dual umbrella bracket another mounted on a single stand and the SU800 mounted on camera to control the lighting.

The RP's worked flawlessly!. I did not expereince any misfires. The only problem that I have is that the RP's will not operate with the new Maha Imedion batteries. I tried four sets of those batteries and the receivers would not even light. I placed the Maha Powerex 2700 in and they work perfectly. None of my units would work with the Imedions.

I have the receivers mounted on side of the flash and I placed an extra piece of velcro to help reinforce the attachment. The receiver mounted on the SU800 needs care, while moving around. The receiver actually fell a couple of times while outside, but I was doing some heavy moving around. As soon as my gaffers tape arrive I will try to secure it wth more reinforcement.

Another High Synch Example:
